Complexity:

If you plan on making your loved one a tasty treat this Valentine’s Day, try these sweet swirl cookies with crunchy sprinkles. They look impressive and taste lovely with a cup of tea!

1

Put the butter and the sugar into a bowl and mix until creamy.

2

Then add in the eggs with a handful of flour.

3

Then add in the rest of the flour and vanilla extract.

4

Knead the dough into a ball, wrap it in cling film and pop in the fridge for 30 minutes.

5

Once chilled, split the mixture in half and colour as desired with concentrated gel colouring. I’ve done half pink and half red.

6

Knead in the colour.

7

Roll both halves of the dough out into rectangles like so.

8

Lay one on top of another and  cut an edge.

9

Then starting with the edge, roll both colours of dough up together to make a long sausage.

10

Brush the outside of the sausage with water and sprinkle over your desired decoration!

11

Then cut your cookie dough sausage into slices.

12

13

And put your slices on a lined baking tray and bake at 180C for 15 minutes.
