Rice Krispie Treats

Shopping List

  • 50g unsalted butter
  • 250g marshmallows
  • 200g Rice Krispies
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
Preparation Time:- 10 mins Cooking Time:- 0 mins
Complexity:

This no-bake, sweet treat is one of my favourites.

These Rice Krispie Treat bars can be made start to finish in less than half an hour and that, to me, is a giant win.

Easily customisable with any toppings or additions you like.

1

Cube your butter and heat in a large pan.

2

Once the butter starts to melt, add in your vanilla and salt and mix well.

3

Then, add in the marshmallows.

4

Mix until completely melted.

5

Once melted, take the pan off of the heat.

6

Mix in your Rice Krispies.

7

Completely coat them in melted marshmallow.

8

Then, pour into a lined tray. I’ve also used more greaseproof paper than I need and left it outside of the tin so I can lift the treat slab out easier. Gently push down to flatten the top. I’ve found the best way to do this is to wipe a little oil onto the back of a rubber spatula and use this to press down with.

9

You can leave them as they are or top with anything you like.

I’ve used sprinkles on top but you can use anything you like; chocolate chips, smarties, broken biscuits, drizzled chocolate.

Chill until set, then cut into squares.

Once made, store in an airtight container and they will last 2-3 days.

Give it a go and let me know how you get on, either on Facebook or Twitter or Instagram.

Happy baking!
